A Rare Cause of Fungal Rhinosinusitis: Exophiala jeanselmai

Fungal rhinosinusitis (FRS) is a rarely encountered disease; however, the incidence increasing. It has strong association with impaired immune system of host as well suitable environment for fungal growth. spores are abundant in surroundings and can enter nasal airway paranasal sinuses (PNS) through inhalation; only small number patients develop FRS. The primary organisms responsible FRS Aspergillus sp., Rhizopus some dematiaceous fungi. We present case an immunosuppressed patient caused by scarce species, Exophiala jeanselmai. This rare fungus never been reported to be associated before.
